Title

[edit]

The article here somehow needs some tinkering, like most material that refers to the series. I guess this has something to do to with the status of the target audience. Maybe this will expand as time goes by.

Chinese Character

[edit]

I've changed the Chinese character for dragon from Jake to The american dragon. Altohugh 竜 is does mean Dragon and is pronounced Long, 龍 is the more common character, and is a valid Chinese surname.

Unless somebody can find a picture of the character for Long in the show itself (or background material) saying otherwise, 龍 is more likely to be the correct character.

perfectblue 10:41, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Chinese character for dragon (龍) is seen at end of the opening credits (it's in the background behind the show's logo). Until the character 竜 is found, your edit is valid. TrackFan 14:08, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've since seen 龍 used during as background for a transformation sequence too. It's appears to be the only character for Dragon used anywhere in the show.
perfectblue 19:09, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thought 龍 was pronounced Luong as in "Lew-ong"

Wolfdog406 (talk) 18:37, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Huntsgirl

[edit]

I'm not entirley sure that's a spoiler. If you ask me, it was blindingly obvious from the first time she appears. --Veemonkamiya 06:07, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I have fixed it. --Theo (Talk) 09:22, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Reversion

[edit]

Today I reverted the following changes:

  1. A general description of a centaur. I think that the article should only describe how centaurs in this series differ from classical centaurs.
  2. Deletion of the details about the Huntsclan and the Huntsman. These are fundamental to the series.
  3. A statement that seers are also called "oricalls". I imagine that this is a mis-spelling of "oracles" and even so, I fail to see the relevance of this general point.
    --Theo (Talk) 16:20, 30 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
The changes I made I thought were somewhat reasonable. Here's my opinion:
  1. You're right on this one. I've never seen a centaur on the show and assumed that the definition was identical to that of a "classic" centaur.
  2. The deletion of the Huntsclan was nessisiary. You listed them as magical creatures, but they are not, they are normal (yet incredably trained) people with extreme gadgets. If you wanted to mention th Huntsclan, do it someplace else ni this artical.
  3. Sorry for the misspelling of "oracles," but they are nto refered to as seers on the show, so mentioning that they are also called seers is the piontless thing. --Wack'd About Wiki 17:30, 30 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation. I have made the appropriate changes. --Theo (Talk) 20:49, 30 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted changes to the magical creatures and characters, but I would like to know an explanation of why someone keeps changing it and making it disorganized. TrackFan 19:01, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Professor Rotwood

[edit]

I do not think it appropriate to compare the Prof. with Mr. Crocker. Although they are both teachers in animated series this does not make the comparison informative. I suggest that this comparison be removed. --Theo (Talk) 17:19, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

It is, actually, quite appropreate. The Professor is overly obsessed with descovering that Jake is a dragon, and Mr. Crocker is overly obsessed with descovering Timmy has fairies. Seriously, how much do you actually watch the show, or even bother to see if what you post is true? I'm a Disney Channel/Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon 'expert'. Leave the editing of this page to me, because I know lots about this show.
  • PS: Sorry if anything I said offended you. --Wack'd About Wiki 17:26, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

But, the only thing they have in common is the longing to catch a magical creature. Other than that they act differently. Rotwood is a hack, while Crocker knows a lot about fairies. Rotwood doesn't freak out the same way Croker does. Rotwood gives out fair grades, while Crocker enjoys giving out Fs. Besides with your logic, the two could be compared to Mr. Craft from Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. He wanted to prove that there was something magical about Sabrina too.

Thorn

[edit]

Rose's other name is Thorn, but the Huntsmaster always calls her Huntsgirl. And the Huntsgirl was never called Thorn by anyone except by Jake in the episode The hunted. Khang 15:44, 23 March 2006

The quote seems to just be an allegory of her personalty, not an actually name. The quote is:
"Maybe your a little rough around the edges, but every thorn has got to have a rose"
She was only surprised when he mentioned her real name, and if Thorn was a secondary name she would be also surprise that he knew her secondary name or not surprised due to the fact that "thorn" and "rose" is closely related. Unless mentioned elsewhere, I do not feel that this needs to be added —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.187.147.202 (talk) 11:02, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I'm concerned, the original plan was to have the "rose/thorn" wordplay throughout the series, but because it had been used in another piece of work earlier, the author of that work asked for it to be removed from the series, which it was. "Thorn" was then renamed "Huntsgirl". It ruins the "every thorn has a rose" line to an extent, since the base for the pun was removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.157.124.160 (talk) 13:47, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reference to TV Tome

[edit]

I have changed the citation of the reference to make it clear which page was the original reference and the date of retrieval. This allows a researcher to find the original reference if, say, archive.org vanishes.—Theo (Talk) 20:59, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Quote

[edit]

Many audiences had mixed opinions about Jake's personality: an Asian-american who 'excessively' speaks in street slang. Most liked it or were indifferent, while others despised it for being 'too irritating'. There is no doubt that Jake's personality is a homage to the second and third-generation immigrants who willingly embraced American culture (and adapted to its varying accents). This may also explain why Jake transforms into a western-style dragon instead of an eastern-style Lung like Lao Shi.

Actually I think maybe Grandpa moved to NY at one point and the rest of the family desended from China but were born in the US. Or something like that. --Wack'd About Wiki 21:21, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia

[edit]

It had but two facts, one of which was irrelevant and full of errors, the other useless information that could be discovered by learning about John DiMaggio. I have removed it.

Cleanup

[edit]

I added the cleanup tag for three basic reasons:

  1. The section structure doesn't seem to be very organized. Season, character, and other information are somewhat mixed together. It's a bit hard to read for a someone not familar with the show.
  2. The season information specifically is confusing, as there appear to be 2-1/2 seasons, with no explanation of why, and a single link for Season 2 that goes nowhere.
  3. The source text looks like a C program. It really needs some spacing to make it easier to edit.

I ask that involved editors tackle these issues when they get a chance. Thank you. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 10:33, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I as well as others have the edited the page to the point where the cleanup tag is no longer needed. ~TrackFan

I have seen that there are problems with the information being presented in this article. More specifically the section discussing the various different types of creatures that are presented in the show. For example I try to edit that section a little, I try to put Trolls before Ogres because the part about the Ogres makes a reference to Trolls and the reader should know what a troll is before reading about Ogres. ~Unknown Dragon

I feel that it should stay in alphabetical order. Putting it in a random order only confuses the reader to find what they're looking for.TrackFan 22:21, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could try moving the Magical Creatures and episode lists in seperate pages. --Erased Paper 14:29, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do that for magical creatures. As for the Episode List, I'll have to decide whether to add it to another page or not. TrackFan 19:39, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Season 2

[edit]

A Season 2 commercial just aired on Disney Channel...I am sad to say there appears to be new animators who have completely butchered the established designs of all the characters. It's just like when Dexter's Laboratory got new animators...the animation was very sloppy and because of new writers, the episodes were pretty bad. I just hope this doesn't happen to ADJL... -- RattleMan 23:14, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, and from what I saw on the commercials for the 2nd season of the show, the backgrounds changed to look Proud Family-esque. The backgrounds of the first season were PERFECTLY fine, and the animation looks cruder for the 2nd season. Of course to verify this I actually need to watch an episode, and hey, maybe I'll like it. And if not, they've just tried to fix something that wasn't broken. And failed to do so. The Runescape Junkie 00:07, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. it looks kinda wierd and choppy. Very Proud Family if you ask me. Disney cheaped out.Thefreakshow 00:54, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree, I think the editors have simply destroyed the show, my sister is 4 and use to love the show but now she won't watch it anymore, I hope they change it back to the way it was in the fist season. TheSandMan 05:24, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The dragon form looks crappy but the human appearance look older, as if they're starting to hit puberty. User_talk:24.14.120.92
Would anyone know if they changed the animators...I know it seems obvious but I wanna know who they gave it off to. Can Someone help?

Fu Dog pretty much looks the same (except for over-exaggerated pads on his paws), normal Trixie does too, Jake's dragon form now has black claws instead of blue claws, and they got new video and a new "beat" to the theme song... -- RattleMan 01:09, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

While I don't really like the new art, it seems that Jake's dragon form looks more Asian rather than the European dragan (Thinner and snake-like as appossed to the original's "barrel" chest and lion-like look). 68.48.174.136 05:28, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, seeing a new episode, I'm gonna take back most of what I said. Everyone looks older, and the show's more mature. But I still don't like the backgrounds. And, like with the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Disney is showing mostly season 2 reruns of the show, which is a shame. Oh well...The Runescape Junkie 20:12, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just saw a commercial for the next episode of ADJL, "Family Business". In this episode, Haley's full dragon form is revealed, and it's now pink instead of purple... -- RattleMan 01:25, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

THEY KILLED THE GRAPHICS. and what happened to jake? Spud is better though. 12hernn 04:49, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They did not kill the graphics. Well, the background is weirder, but the show is less cheesy. Wikæpedia Fiasco 16:18, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning of Lao shi

[edit]

The most common useage is a method of addressing a teacher, but not the only usage. "Lao shi" written without the tones and as one word may mean "teaher," "honest," or "always." -Kail Ceannai 02:40, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In Chinese Lao (老) is also an honoriy title meaning 'old' or 'experienced'. It's common to put it in front of a persons name to show them respect. This would mean that Laoshi, would actually mean Old/honored Shi. With Shi being grandfather long's name.
Of course, 老 is used for both teacher and 'Old' Shi, and both seem slightly strange as he was called Laoshi even when he was much younger (form a flashback to when he first me Fu-dog in a disco).
perfectblue 10:25, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rotwood Evil?

[edit]

I can't seam to think of anything he's done that qualifies as "evil". I think that part of his description should be changed.

Yes, that bit of information should definetely be changed, Rotwood is not an evil character, although he can be technically be called an antagonist since he sometimes creates problems (although not always intentionally) for Jake, the protagonist. Unknown Dragon 20:59, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think Rotwood is evil. Admittedly, he is not the most sinister of Jake's foes, but we cannot simply deem him a mere psychotic. Remember, Rotwood went as far once to try to steal a talent show trophy and unleash an evil genie, just to gain power and glory. Also, being a man paying for captures of Jake in another episode proves he is more then crazy. I think Rotwood is evil, and we may not be surprised if he becomes a villain in the movie, if they broadcast one. 70.58.211.220

In Magic Enemy #1, it's been said that Jake makes it appear like Rotwood is magical world's #1 enemy, but I don't think he's villainous. He's almost close to being non-threatening with his crackpot theories and such. TrackFan 22:03, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, just to be honest, I think we should keep the "villainous" labeling. It might be useful someday. 70.58.211.220

Yes, Rotwood is evil. He has now found out that Jake is a dragon, and now he is trying to expose Jake. Animine 05:36, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dragon Training

[edit]

Why was my information about Dragon Training deleted?! That was useful info telling about American Dragon: Jake Long! Unknown Dragon 20:56, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Dragon Training part is useful and I regret removing it, but the Dragon Training Secrets aren't necessary. They're just hilarious little tips that aren't to be taken seriously. TrackFan 21:11, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have some sections up for removal...

[edit]

The whole Trivia Section, and the Goofs section. Can anybody tell me how they help the casual reader understand the article better? Abby724 18:15, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's used to help the reader know more about the show. Some Trivia could be removed as it barely has to do with the show.TrackFan 19:48, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the trivia section completely. It is not needed and would have been eventually deleted. TrackFan 17:32, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Two Things...

[edit]

I know I'm new to this in all, but there's two things that I noticed that should be considered. 1) It wasn't spud's uncle that thought him the magic word, but his great-grandfather (or as he called him "super gramps"). And 2) The nurse in Rose's dream didn't say that they were two twin girls, but just twins. The fact is that most twin look alike when they're babies, but that doesn't mean that they're both girls. If I heard it wrong tell me, otherwise I'd change it. Momoroxmysoxoff August 25

Seperate Character Pages

[edit]

I think things are starting to get to the point where we can't keep the summaries of the main characters in the show limited to little summaries on the main show page. I mean, looking at Rose's entry is the most obvious proof, as it seems to go off into major territory that involves the Jake and Rose plotline and less about her actual character. The step with moving secondary characters and magical creatures onto seperate pages was a good start, but I think we might have to take another step with the main characters. Langdon Alder 18:50, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

I agree. There is much more information about the major characters than there is on the main article. TrackFan 02:23, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rose as an Anti-Hero

[edit]

Can it be agreed that Rose is an anti-hero? I believe she is, as she appears reluctant to be part of an evil group such as the Huntsclan, and that she actively tries to sabotage their efforts during the second season, but only after discovering that Jake was the American Dragon.

Other attributes to her being an anti-hero is her past history of being abducted from her mother; her activities with the Huntsclan during the first season, where she redeemed of her crimes during the episode 'The Hunted' by sparing Jake's life; the fact she lives two lives: One as herself, and the other as the Huntsgirl, and that both these personas often conflict with each other.

What do you think?

GamerJay 12:03, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, I agree, good job pointing that out! The RSJ - SPEAKThe RSJ at the RS Wiki 01:50, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dragon Training

[edit]

The whole Dragon Training section seems a bit unnecessary for the article. Most of the information in there can be found on other pages that link back to the artcile. TrackFan 15:34, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I guess "Dragon Training Secrets" could be removed too. I saw a promo for "Supernatural Tuesday" that I'm pretty sure didn't have any "Secret". Instead, the main tagline was "Will Jake get schooled?" --Erased Paper 07:11, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A fair point, since the "Dragon Training Secrets" seemed liked a temporary promo gimmick. I guess the Dragon Training stuff could get removed, since it just seems to take an odd direction in comparison to the other information in the article. Perhaps it could be dismantled and inserted into other pages (like in character profiles). Langdon Alder 21:04, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would like it if the information could be posted somewhere else at least, like with Langdon Alder's advice about putting the info in a character page or something, I rather liked having the Dragon Training Secrets Info. Unknown Dragon 19:15, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The information can be posted into other articles but Dragon Training Secrets should remain deleted. They're nothing more than temporary promo gimmicks like what Langdon Alder said. TrackFan 01:20, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They could be included in the Dragon Training section of the article. Unknown Dragon

Other Trivia

[edit]

Should we put in for the trivia that a reference of Jake Long can be heard right after a part of the Naruto Dub ends?

Topic about Bryan Danielson

[edit]

I think there should be a correction about the topic about the real true American Dragon, Bryan Danielson, as the page suggests Bryan Danielson has been calling himself since the American Dragon show has started, which is not true as Bryan Danielson has been calling himself American Dragon and AmDrag for a very long time, way before the TV series was even created and I've been trying to edit that but its been deleted so I think that it should be corrected and stay on the site.

In the article, it does not state he has been using this name since the show premiered. Additionally, the way it was put "He has been calling himself this before the show was even thought of" is not factual and the show could have been thought up around the same time he started using that name. I see nothing wrong with that section in Trivia. TrackFan 16:53, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
he's been calling himself American Dragon and AmDrag since 1999, way before the show was even considered if you think about it

Between season 1 and 2, the theme song changed. Not a big change, just either better recording or completely different band. I think the original band was called Mavin?

Crossover episode with Lilo and Stitch: The Series controversy

[edit]
Resolved

Since this has become an issue, I thought it would be best to have it here on the talk page. In my personal opinion, I do not believe that this episode should not be mentioned on this page or the episode page since this is not an episode of American Dragon: Jake Long but rather an episode of Lilo and Stitch: The Series. Where are the other character pages?

Where are the character pages for the minor characters and magical creatures at? I believe that it is important for people to know this info.

You may think it's important but according to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction) these articles are not important.TrackFan (talk) 21:04, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wish I could have saved the information on my User Page or a Sandbox or something before all the articles were merged, but oh well, it can't be helped now. Unknown Dragon (talk) 06:21, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to to the manual then... no article from any disney show should have a page of minor characters or anything along those lines. It doesn't really improve an article by taking away that much information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.213.101.95 (talk) 07:55, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not our decision though. Unless it has real world information, Wikipedia tends to keep these articles short, sweet, and to the point. TrackFan (talk) 18:37, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

well... that just sucks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.213.101.95 (talk) 06:00, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Haley Long

I know lots of people have edited it, but I have added Haley Long to the charactors list, as on most websites, she is classed as one of the lower class main charactors. Also she is a helping charctor who is a dragon aswell. Vitual aelita (talk) 21:41, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just noticed there were no pictures of Jake's dragon form. Do you think it should be included (possibly showing the difference between season 1 and 2)? Unbalanced (talk) 01:06, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There were pictures in this article of Jake in his dragon form from both seasons. Unfortunately, the pictures eventually became deleted. I would not upload up any new pictures since one, Wikipedia tends to dislike articles with numerous pictures and two, the article would become cluttered which is a reason to Wikipedia's dislike of numerous pictures. I don't see a need for the pictures. Hope that answers your question. TrackFan (talk) 23:43, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I've got a qestion : Where is an article about second characters in American Dragon... and article about Jake? WHERE? PS Greettings from Poland ( small country in Europe)! All Poland likes American Dragon Jake Long, Dragon up - Yeah!:) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.134.160.231 (talk) 19:30, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe this was the main reason to why that article is now defunct: "The main characters are already covered in the main article. Minor characters like these do not need expanded coverage outside of the episodes summaries." <-(This was written by one of the expert editors on Wikipedia)TrackFan (talk) 21:24, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why this articles were cancelled? In this articles were a lot of informations. In "American Dragon..." isn't it.Loveharts (talk) 16:14, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not up to us of what stays and what goes. If Wikipedia believes it's unnecessary, then they will deem it as unnecessary. TrackFan (talk) 22:07, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Major secondary characters?

[edit]

I feel this article is repeating itself with this section which could lead to another separate article which in turn will be deleted, like the previous article before it (the one I created), by the moderators here at Wikipedia. In my opinion, the major characters are sufficient enough. Any opinions on this? TrackFan (talk) 15:59, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Trackfan, I will improve this...:)--Loveharts (talk) 11:39, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How exactly are you going to improve this? (EDIT) I just mean, in a sense, how are you going improve that section without it resulting in having too many characters leading into another soon-to-be defunct page? TrackFan (talk) 15:20, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why We can't make article about Villains or Family...? Look at Polish article! ("Wrogowie" are Villains, "Bohaterowie drugoplanowi" are Secondary Characters). Ones upon a time (?? Sorry, I don't know sentences about time...) there were articles about it... And I'm so sorry, I don't understand your "talk" - "soon-to-be defunct page". Please, write it simply... I'm so sorry, but my English on this high (slang and "new" words)is so bad. Sorry.--Loveharts (talk) 15:33, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What I mean is, to put it bluntly, Wikipedia has gotten rid of/deleted an article like that before. It no longer exists. What you're doing is exactly what I did months before. It led to a new article which lasted for quite some time and then the people at Wikipedia voted and decided that it was unnecessary. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Perhaps now we can just limit the article down to just main characters. TrackFan (talk) 14:37, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References can not be viewed due to the fact that the blog is open to invited readers only. Any way of mirroring a copy to see the sources for this page?

New Time Slot

[edit]

Can someone please help me with the time slot. There is going to be a new one starting beggining of 2010 but i do not know if it is going to be permanent. It starts 1/4/2010.Im serious2222 (talk) 23:41, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source, i.e. a link? BOVINEBOY2008 :) 00:27, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually there is. I used DisneyChannel.com, but i think i used an older version of it because i went to their shows they had on tonight then i went to american dragon at 2:30 and saw the upcoming american dagons. Again, I do not know if this will be permanent because i only went to the very first four episodes and i saw it started at 3:00 to 3:30. I think I used an older version because I went on my newer computer after that and I couldn't find the upcoming shows section (Windows 7). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Im serious2222 (talkcontribs) 18:05, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide the url? It is not that I don't believe you, but it needs to be sourced and verified. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 21:15, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

http://affiliate.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCSGrid.do?aid=disn I have provided you with the information you asked for. disneychannel.com directs you to this website when you click on full episode list. Again, I think this full episode list option is only avaliable for the old internet explorer. I got on my old computer and provided you with this website. If you need any more help let me know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Im serious2222 (talkcontribs) 03:29, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Or you can use this: http://affiliate.zap2it.com/tv/american-dragon-jake-long/EP00711574 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.209.175.199 (talk) 03:34, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, now I am very sure 3:00 AM is the new time slot for this year looking at the upcoming episodes list and what date and time they will preimere. Although, I am not sure how to fix the part of the article where it says, "American Dragon currently airs on Disney Channel every day at 2:30 AM ET," because it does not preimere every single day anymore because it is skipping some days. But it does preimere very often though. Would "occasionally" work? That is just a suggestion. They also might change the time slot again next year.Im serious2222 (talk) 21:35, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sequel

[edit]

I've deleted the section on the sequel. I've researched this and have found no proof of this. And seeing as no sources were listed, I thought it best to delete it. --Dhaman Ashtar 10:47, 15 January 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhaman Ashtar (talkcontribs)

ARGH!!!

[edit]

Hi, just want to let you know that someone keeps adding something about a season 3 and "American Dragon: Jake Long: Shiver Me Dragons" when there is NO such thing. I've been deleting delete these and can someone fix up the main ADJL article page?

Can someone please undo User:72.70.25.62's edits?

I've gotten all the ones I can find, read the entire article twice but that doesn't mean I got them all :( I have no interest in this subject but I can't stand by and allow children to read these horrible passages. 205.145.64.64 (talk) 23:14, 25 January 2010 (UTC) Serondal[reply]

Art Shift

[edit]

I really think this could use some information about the dramatic change in art styles between Seasons 1 and 2. Surely there's some source out there that references it. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if it were different animation teams. — trlkly 13:12, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

I have added the Refimprove tag to the article as more sources are needed. Also, if someone could replace the current citations that would be great. They link to a Blogger site which requires an account with Blogger which most people, including myself, do not have. Niazac (talk) 09:38, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jake Long and Ron Stoppable love trend

[edit]

I think that this paragraph should be deleted. It has no significance or importance to the article and is disruptive. There is absolutely NO love trend between Jake and Ron. Who ever thought of this (Jake Long and Ron Stoppable love trend) is SICK!

We all know that Jake's love interest is Rose and he is straight and narrow...period!

I hate it when people make everything GLBT!

Unofficial 3rd season

[edit]

There is talk about a company called Blue Sky Productions in Canada making an unofficial season 3 ADJL. Here is what someone wrote to me in my talk page:

"Hey Wolfdog, I'd like to talk to you about adding what I added to the article about Blue Sky. They are a professional and legit company. and they will be selling DVD's of the AmDrag season 3 so it sounds like a big deal and I think it should be added for important reasons."

My response: "Hi, thanks for the info but that still does not belong in the ADJL article. If Blue Sky makes an Unofficial ADJL season 3, what they are doing is illegal and infringing on the copyrights of ADJL that belong to Disney. And besides, If there is going to be an official anther season of ADJL, it would be done by Disney, using the original voice actors and made in the USA because well, it's called AMERICAN Dragon after all!"

Language

[edit]

Just to let people know that the language in this series is American English. Please leave that alone!

Wolfdog406 (talk) 19:23, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As Ive said in the edit summery, there is no such language as "American English", it is a dialect of English. -- [[ axg ◉ talk ]] 20:47, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Theme Song

[edit]

Maybe we should put a section for the theme song for the show. They had the same theme song and with 2 different artists. Juan.h.idea (talk) 03:25, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity

[edit]

If, as DanTD asserts in this edit, Jake Long's ethnicity is "quite relevant", can we be more specific than "Asian-American", which could include Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, and Indian ethnicities, but could probably also include the Yemenese, Iranians and people from Brunei, what with all of those countries being in Asia. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:20, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely. The Long family (except for the father) are Chinese-Americans, and that factor is relevant to the storyline. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 15:57, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Minor characters

[edit]

There's one more minor character from season 1 named Jaren MacArther. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NDEdminson (talkcontribs) 01:25, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

[edit]

Where it specifies things like the theme song performer and composers by years, that should not be the case. It should specify which seasons, not which years. SecretName101 (talk) 23:05, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
