Portrait vote

[edit]

Obviously we need to reach a consensus on what image to use of Jackson Lee. Here are the reasonable options I have found so far. Please feel free to drop more suggestions.

B or G would get my vote. I think a color photo makes more sense, then E feels perhaps a bit too recent and C + F are very close-up, so that is what my thinking would be to land at B or G. AddMLR (talk) 04:01, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think G is definitely an excellent portrait since it shows her at a younger age, but also having a picture of her in color + in step with her usual hairstyle. Dancingtudorqueen (talk) 04:14, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Option G completely. Option B would be fine but it feels too zoomed out honestly Lowkschwonz (talk) 06:24, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also like G. Could be convinced on the black and white options (D&A). B&E are too zoomed out, C&F are too zoomed in. Dcpoliticaljunkie (talk) 06:48, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a little late to this, but agreeing that both B and G are good, with a slight preference for G. (The flag is good for someone significantly associated with her time in Congress, but as noted it's a little zoomed out.) CAVincent (talk) 04:34, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Option B would be the best photograph to use for this article. Catfurball (talk) 17:34, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

My original post was deleted by another user so I am re-adding it. The official picture's date is wrong. This picture is not from 2013 but from 2008/2009 as here is the full sized version: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sheila_Jackson-Lee.jpg and as you can see it is exactly the same as the one on her article: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sheila_Jackson_Lee_113th_Congress.jpg, however someone has cropped it, edited the background to remove the flag and changed the colour. I was therefore wondering if we could swap it to the one from 2018: Sheila Jackson Lee 116th Congress.jpg, which is a more up to date image. 81.96.52.167 (talk) 17:58, 6 August 2024 (UTC) 81.96.52.167 (talk) 17:58, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Declined I told you on you're talk page the year is not wrong. The photographs are not the same, they are two different photographs. No editor made any changes to the photograph. The background color was not changed and the United States flag was not removed. Your request is purely disruptive to this talk page. Catfurball (talk) 19:46, 6 August 2024 (UTC) Also the photographs are from two different websites. Catfurball (talk) 19:48, 6 August 2024 (UTC) And if would look above there is a vote that is taking place on wither to keep the photograph in the article or change to a different photograph. Catfurball (talk) 19:58, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am extremely concerned by the fact that you cannot see that the images are the same, except one has been cropped and the background changed, plus the flag removed. The pose, jewelry, outfit, hair style in both pictures are exactly the same. My request is not disruptive as I am merely pointing out that the date on the article, which is currently 2013, is inaccurate as the photograph was taken in 2008/2009. 81.96.52.167 (talk) 20:07, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
